Planning your commission

Budgets and timescales for bespoke jewellery

The design, gemstones and precious metal all influence the quotation and schedule. Christopher discusses these choices with you before you commit to making a piece.

Budget and timescale

What to expect

Budget

Every commission is individually considered and quoted. Your budget helps Christopher guide the scale, gemstones, precious metal and design choices from the outset. Those decisions are discussed openly, and you will receive a clear quotation before you approve the design and making begins.

You do not need to know what each element should cost before the first conversation.

Timescale

The time required depends on the design, gemstone sourcing and complexity of the piece. If it is intended for a proposal, anniversary or other important date, tell Christopher at the first conversation. Starting early gives the best choice and allows the piece to be designed and made without unnecessary pressure.

A realistic schedule will be discussed before you commit.

Your choices

What shapes the quotation

The scale of the piece, gemstone choices, precious metal and complexity of the design are considered together. Christopher helps you understand how each decision fits the budget you have in mind.

Important dates

A schedule discussed before commitment

Tell Christopher about a proposal, anniversary or other important date at the first conversation. A deadline is not accepted until it has been discussed and agreed.
