Documentation and ownership

SmartReport and ValuVault for your jewellery

Important jewellery deserves more than a paper report. Keep the detailed record, photographs and relevant supporting documents connected throughout the ownership of your jewellery or watch.

Beyond the printed report

Your valuation becomes a continuing record

A conventional valuation records an item and its value at a particular point in time. We go further. Your valuation is presented through a SmartReport™, a detailed digital record of the jewellery or watch, which you can access in your own ValuVault™.

A clearer record

Descriptions, identifying details, photographs and valuation information are kept together, helping you understand exactly what has been documented.

Available when you need it

Your SmartReport is held in ValuVault, giving you a secure place to access the record and supporting ownership documents without relying on one paper copy.

Built for continuing ownership

The record can support insurance conversations and remain relevant as an item is revalued, serviced, repaired, altered or passed on.

Printed valuation

  • Records the item and value on the date issued.
  • Usually retained as a paper document or static file.
  • Supporting information may be stored separately.

SmartReport with ValuVault

  • Brings the detailed record, photographs and relevant documents together.
  • Gives the owner continuing digital access.
  • Can develop with the item’s valuation and ownership history.
  • Is digital-first and insurer-ready.

What you receive

  • Professional valuation information for the item assessed.
  • A detailed SmartReport for the jewellery or watch.
  • Access to the record through ValuVault.
  • A shareable record for relevant insurance conversations.
  • A foundation for future valuation, care and documentation.

The record behind the piece

Your commission comes with its own SmartReport

A bespoke piece carries details that should not disappear once it leaves the studio. Every completed Christopher Stoner bespoke commission includes a SmartReport™: a detailed digital record of the piece, its design, materials, gemstones, photographs and relevant supporting information.

You can access the record through ValuVault™, giving you one place to retain the documentation that supports ownership, insurance, future care and provenance.

  • The piece clearly identified and documented.
  • Important specifications and supporting files kept together.
  • A record designed to remain useful throughout ownership.

Documentation and insurance are separate

A SmartReport can support insurance conversations. Individual insurers decide what information they need and whether they accept a valuation. Insurance is not included with a commission or valuation.

Documentation questions

Will I still receive a valuation report?

Yes. Your valuation is presented through a detailed SmartReport, which you can access in ValuVault. It records the item, identifying information, photographs and valuation details in a digital-first format designed to be accessible and shareable.

What is the difference between SmartReport and ValuVault?

SmartReport is the detailed living record of the jewellery or watch. ValuVault is the secure place where you access and manage that record alongside relevant ownership documents.

Can the SmartReport be shared with an insurer?

The owner can share the SmartReport for relevant insurance conversations. It is designed to be insurer-ready, although individual insurers decide what information they require and whether they accept a valuation.

Is insurance included with the valuation?

No. Insurance is separate and optional. Through our partnership with ZNG Cover, eligible clients can be introduced to specialist jewellery and watch insurance, subject to ZNG Cover’s quotation, terms, eligibility and acceptance.

What shall we make?

You do not need a finished idea. A conversation is enough.
